Security professionals often maintain collections of security utilities, testing tools, scripts, internal tooling, and multiple versions of source code.
The project aimed to centralize these assets and provide a dedicated platform for managing the source code and its evolution.
The primary technical challenge was dealing with Git data and repository history.
The application needed to represent concepts that are naturally handled by source-control systems inside a dedicated web platform, including repository changes, version history, update records, source-code state, and historical revisions.
The platform combined PHP application logic, MySQL persistence, Git repositories and repository history, and a web-based management interface.
Because the platform dealt with security-related source code and tools, access to the underlying assets formed part of both the application design and infrastructure responsibilities.
